SOAR - Japan Chapter
SOAR Japan began as part of SOAR East Asia in May 2015. There is a small Armenian community in Japan, historically formed through trade and later refugee movements, with an estimated 70–80 expatriates primarily in Tokyo. The relationship between Armenia and Japan has deep historical roots, including Japan’s early recognition of Armenian independence and humanitarian aid during the Armenian Genocide. Japan and Armenia established official diplomatic relations in 1992, and both have embassies in their respective capitals.
