SOAR - Vanadzor Chapter

Vanadzor became part of the SOAR family in December 2014. In an effort to maintain strict accountability and transparency in Armenia, we welcome several new Board members whose roles involve primarily quality assurance. We define “quality assurance” as planned and systematic activities, implemented within our communication and distribution system, to assure that our tangible distributions (goods and services) are fulfilled. SOAR-Vanadzor liaisons to Vanadzor Orphanage and the Our Lady of Educational Center in Tashir.

Manana Mananyan
President

Manana lives in Vanadzor, Armenia. She got her degree as an English and German teacher, which gave the possibility for her to provide English language classes to the children of Vanadzor orphanage. Since then she has been involved in various international projects targeted at the development of the country and provision of medical and humanitarian aid to the vulnerable and needy population of the country.  She is currently working as a Fundraising and Development Coordinator at “Orran” Benevolent NGO, which is a daycare center which helps underprivileged and socially vulnerable elderly and children. She has been with SOAR since 2015 and was awarded with Lucie Adamyan- Hovsepyan Memorial Award in 2016 and 2017 for outstanding service to orphaned Armenians.

Ani Gabrielyan

Ani Gabrielyan started her career as a journalist at a local TV station. In 1998 she joined “Lusastgh” NGO which supports disabled and handicapped people and since 2012 has been appointed as the Chair of the NGO. She is a pedagogue and social worker by her background and conducted various trainings at Vanadzor Orphanage on Lifeskills, Healthy Lifestyle, Girls’ Empowerment. She was also involved in provision of social and psychological sevices to the children with problematic behaviour of the orphanage. She has been with SOAR since 2011.

Hasmik Jinanyan

Hasmik Jinanyan currently has the position of the Operations Coordinator of Orran BNGO Vanadzor Center. She holds a Master’s Degree in Finance from International Scientific-Educational Center of NAS RA and a Bachelor‘s Degree in the English Language and Literature from Vanadzor State University. She is responsible for managing Orran Vanadzor center, developing and facilitating an active planning process for operations, developing organizational goals and objectives consistent with the mission and vision of Orran, serving as chief liaison with governmental bodies and specific community groups, providing for adequate supervision and annual appraisal of all staff. She worked in Ardshinbank CJSC for the proceeding five years. She is passionate about youth development and is actively developing as a professional youth worker.

Angela Saghatelyan 

Angela Saghatelyan graduated from Vanadzor State Teachers’ Training Institute Philological Faculty, Department of Foreign Languages. She has more than 15 years of experience in working in local and international organizations, USAID and EU funded programs, with local authorities, NGOs, community active groups, community youth. Since 2008 Angela has been actively involved in grant administration, project monitoring and evaluation. At present she works at GIZ Armenia in “Local Governance Program South Caucasus” and “Eastern Partnership Territorial Cooperation Armenia-Georgia” EU funded program as an adviser. Her responsibilities include but are not limited to coordinating, organizing and implementing activities related to initiatives of the Local Governance Program South Caucasus in Armenia with the respective regional administrations, municipalities and other partner organizations; counselling of grant beneficiaries as regards project planning and implementation according to work plan and time schedule; requirements of financial administration as well as reporting when implementing the grant contract; checking and approving narrative reports.

Ani Safaryan

Ani Safaryan currently has the position of the Academic Coordinator of Orran BNGO Vanadzor Center. Formerly she worked as the social worker in Kurtan village School within the frameworks of the ‘’Teach for Armenia’’ Program. Ms Ani holds a Master’s Degree in ‘’Education Management’’ and a Bachelor‘s Degree in ‘’Social Work and Pedagogy’’ from Vanadzor State University. She is responsible for supervision of all teachers and academic workers, organizing staff trainings, seminars or workshops for team building, classroom safety, health issues and other related issues, as well as drawing up road maps for all children based on personal information, academic ability, interests etc.
