SOAR - Caracas Chapter
Caracas became part of the SOAR family in January 2022. Armenians settled in Venezuela at the beginning of the 20th century, after the Armenian Genocide. The presence of new workplaces and big oil reserves during the 1930s gave many Armenians the opportunity to move from Argentina, Cyprus, Greece, and France to Venezuela. Today, there are approximately 4,000 Armenians in Venezuela, most of which live in Caracas, Cumana, Maracay, Valencia, and Puerto la Cruz.
