The creation of a Byblos Chapter continues our efforts to expand SOAR beyond traditional borders. SOAR-Byblos is our 2nd Chapter in Lebanon, joining SOAR-Ainjar. SOAR-Byblos works exclusively toward the assistance of Birds’ Nest, an orphanage that has been home to thousands of children of the Armenian Community in the Middle East region for over 80 years. The Birds’ Nest orphanage was founded by Maria Jacobson who was known by Armenians throughout the world as Mama. The institution provides boarding and education, spiritual guidance, and encouragement to help build self sufficiency in preparation for life and integration into society.

President
Hasmig Bezdikian graduated in Social Work and is a Supervisor of the Medical division of Karaguezian institute. She is a Board Member of Birds’ Nest and has dedicated most of her life working with underprivileged children in Beirut.
