SOAR-LA team successfully loaded and shipped a 44 foot truck with medical supplies and equipment to the Kharpert and Gavar Orphanages in Armenia valued at $175,000.

SOAR-LA Board announced the funding of the Computer Lab Project which entails the construction, hardwiring and complete furnishing of the Computer Labs. The project is estimated at $45,000-with 6-12 computers per lab as well as printers, scanners, desks and chairs in 4 orphanages of Armenia; Zadik, OLA (Gyumri), Trchoonian Home and Vanadzor orphanages. Computer labs will bring much needed educational opportunity and support for the children to advance. This project could not have been possible without the generosity of the Rick Spears Educational Fund and the support of many of our loyal donors who came and contributed to SOAR-LA’S June 11th successful fundraising event.

April 8th, 2011: SOAR-LA announced that Kharberd orphanage held a ribbon cutting ceremony for the opening of its infirmary. The complete renovation and refurnishing of the infirmary was completed in February of 2011 and was sponsored fully by SOAR’s Los Angeles chapter. Representatives from Board of trustees and Yerevan chapter were present at the ceremony.

SOAR-LA Board members, with the support of its many volunteers and supporters, earmarked $35,000.00 to completely renovate and furnish the Kharberd treatment center. We extend special gratitude to Arthur and Lily Seredian, who generously donated $10,000.00 toward this project and who continue to support SOAR-LA. The Kharberd renovations began in December 2010 and were completed in March 2011. Below are the "before" and "after" pictures - what an amazing transformation!
SOAR-LA is pleased to announce that it has received a $300 donation for toys and clothing from an anonymous donor from Glendale, Ca, in February of 2011. Nazeli and Alex Pogosyan were instrumental in getting this donation and facilitated the purchase and distribution of the toys, school supplies and clothing to Gavar orphanage in Armenia. The donation was received with much joy and gratitude by the children of the orphanage. We thank the anonymous donor for his generosity and the Pogosyans for their support of SOAR.
